The University Archives and Special Collections collects, preserves and provides access to rare books, manuscripts and the archival records of Colorado State University-Pueblo. The department is also tasked with assisting the University community comply with records management requirements.

Collections

University Archives:

The University Archives documents the history of Colorado State University-Pueblo from its inception as the San Isabel Junior College of Pueblo in 1933 to the present. These include minutes, correspondence, reports, publications and photographs produced by administrative and academic units in the course of University business.

Theses/Internship Papers:

The University Archives contains the record copy of master’s theses and internship papers.

Manuscripts:

The manuscript collections include the records and papers of figures of state and local significance. The University Archives and Special Collections is actively working to expand the manuscript collection with a particular focus being placed on documenting the experiences of historically underrepresented groups in Southern Colorado.

Rare Books:

The university owns a number of unique volumes primarily related to the history of the American Southwest.

Access and Use

Due to their unique nature, these items do not circulate. If you are interested in accessing the material, please visit the University Archives and Special Collections located in room 610 of the University Library.
