Cataloging/Metadata Librarian (Assistant or Associate Professor of Library Services)

As a member of the Information Management Department, the Cataloging & Metadata Librarian ensures that all information resources including print, audiovisual, and digital resources are properly indexed, organized, and cataloged in the library's catalog and digital repository. Oversees day to day operations of the cataloging department including the description, organization, cataloging, and maintenance of monographs, serials, government documents, electronic resources, and audiovisual collections. The Cataloging & Metadata Librarian provides reference services (including some nights and weekends), acts as liaison to various academic departments, teaches library instruction classes, and serves on university boards and committees.

Minimum requirements

  • ALA Accredited Masters in Library/ Information Science
  • One year of professional or paraprofessional cataloging experience that included original cataloging in an academic library within the last five years
