Request Policy and Fees
- Undergraduates may request up to 20 interlibrary loans per
month
- Graduate students, faculty, and staff may request up to 30 interlibrary loans per month
- Community users and students associated with other institutions may
submit up to 10 requests per month
The Interlibrary Loan Department makes every attempt to acquire materials from institutions that
do not charge for lending. If an item can only be located at a charging library, the
borrower will be notified of anticipated charges, and asked if he/she wishes to proceed with the
request.
- Undergraduate students and community members are required to pay all charges
associated with borrowing books and/or obtaining photocopies if the materials can only be
obtained from charging libraries. (Typical charges range from 10.00-15.00)
- Undergraduates enrolled in capstone courses are required to pay any book loan fees
over $15.00 per book up to five(5)loan transactions per academic year, and all charges associated
with photocopy requests. (Students may request more than five books,
but must pay all associated lending fees past the fifth book.)
- Graduate students, faculty, and staff are required to pay all charges associated with photocopied
materials and any fees over $15.00 per transaction for
book loans.
- Theses and dissertations: If not available from a lending library or
Digital Dissertations,
borrowers may purchase the document to keep through the Library's Proquest account at a charge of $28.00.
- Copyright royalty fees are incurred by requesting more than one article from a single issue of a
journal. In these cases, the Department will attempt to borrow the entire issue in order to avoid fees.
If this is not possible, the requestor will be notified of the anticipated charge, and be responsible for paying the
royalty fee and a $3.00 transaction charge per article, if he/she desires to proceed.

Making and Tracking Your Requests
To make and then track the status of your requests, set up an account through
WorldCat
(Off campus log in here)
by choosing My Account and New User Registration. Once an item has been shipped, it will
appear under Resource Sharing and My Requests in WorldCat. Create a
UserID and password,
then continue searching in WorldCat or other FirstSearch databases, and make requests. Please note that
you must be logged in to My Account before you place your requests in order to be able to track their
status, and that articles found in non-FirstSearch databases or requested through WebZap will not have this
capability.
You can also save your searches in any FirstSearch database using My Account.
Books as well as other returnable items and articles located through nearly all of the databases may be ordered while within the
database itself. WorldCat
(Off campus log in here) lists holdings for thousands of
libraries, and is the easiest way to find and request books that are not available in the CSU-Pueblo Library.
Here are the steps to request items found in WorldCat and the other library subscription databases:
- Locate book or article record in a database
- If in a FirstSearch database,
(Off campus log in here)
click on the title of the item you wish to request, then on the ILL button
at the top of the record
- Find out more about LinkSource here
(Please note: LinkSource does not yet work from off campus) If you are in a non-FirstSearch database,
(Off campus log in here)
click on the LinkSource
option at the bottom of the record for the item you wish to request. LinkSource will automatically link to the full text of an article
if it is available in another
database. You can also search the catalog from LinkSource to see if the item is at the library in print.
If it is not available in either format, there is an
interlibrary loan request form.
- Fill out the form with your contact information, using your University PID or LID number
- Please identify your department or major
- If you are a community patron, please choose No Dept and Local Patron
- Submit the form
- You will receive an automatic e-mail notification when your
materials arrive. Articles requested by faculty and staff will be routed through campus mail instead
of being at the Circulation Desk unless otherwise requested.
WebZap provides online request
forms, and electronic delivery of articles. To set up an account, use your PID or LID number in the
format PID123456. and be sure to include a current e-mail address.
When your article is available, you will receive an e-mail linking to WebZap. Log in and choose Webview, and
to print or download your article(s).
Paper forms are also available outside the Interlibrary Loan
office on the second floor, at the Reference Desk, and at the Periodicals Desk on the
third floor. Leave the request in
the basket next to the blank forms.
CSU Shop on SAGE(SOS) allows graduate students,
faculty and staff to directly borrow returnable materials from Colorado State University, Fort Collins.

Picking Up Materials
When requested materials arrive, you will be notified by phone or e-mail. Materials are
kept at the Circulation Desk for pick up. You may keep photocopied articles. If you receive a book, you
must comply with all restrictions placed on the use of the book by the institution
that lends it. You are responsible for returning it by the due date. Failure to
do so may jeopardize interlibrary loan borrowing privileges both for you and our
library. Books borrowed through interlibrary loan should be returned to the
circulation desk. Articles may be sent electronically to the requester's
WebZap account. Faculty and
staff articles are generally sent via campus mail, if not requested to be sent to WebZap.
